Due to the very generous donations received in 2008, we were able to fund thirteen teacher grant requests in full. Our stated limit for each request was $300. The requests we regretfully were not able to grant were a request from three language teachers requesting assistance in attending the annual NY State association of Foreign Language Teachers, and a request from an ESL teacher asking for aid in sponsoring ESL students to attend the prom. Please see the note below.
1) Jodi Rowe, Business Teacher: A year’s subscription to Clipart.com This enables usage of millions of photos and graphics, without copyright infringement, by students in classes on Web Page Design, Computer Applications, Journalism, Desktop Publishing and also for the Nottingham High School newsletter, Nottingham High School web site, Career Fair booklet, The Common Ground Newsletter etc. $159.95

Total grants for 2009: $3,371.64
The ESL Senior Fundraising Club is having a Nottingham Trivia Scavenger Hunt for any ESL Senior during the last week of April. The prizes for this contest will be either a free prom ticket (cost $62), a free yearbook ($65) or a free cap and gown ($45). We are looking for donations since our food sales so far have only earned enough for one prom ticket. We would like to offer more prizes so we can all participate fully in our last year at Nottingham. Any amount can be donated to the Nottingham Connection, earmarked “ESL Seniors 2009”.
